ANGEL

“Why are we going to the gym?”

He eyed her as he helped her into one of his hoodies. It practically went down to her knees but seeing her in his clothes made his possessive side go wild. “Because I need to have a meeting with my brothers. There will probably be at least one of the other Little girls there.”

Letting out a nervous sigh, she nodded. “Okay.”

Two of Declan’s men were at the door waiting for them when they walked out of the house. Angel knew Nora was intimidated by them. Their guns were visible in their waistbands. Angel was armed, too, though he always was when he left the house. It was just something that was ingrained in him after so many years of working in the shadows. They always needed to be prepared for anything.

Angel buckled her into the back seat of the black SUV before climbing in next to her and wrapping his arm around her shoulders. Something had shifted between them since they’d told each other about their childhoods. They were closer and she seemed even less afraid of him. After he’d feasted on her pussy and cuddled her for hours the day before, he’d given her a bath. She hadn’t argued but he could tell she felt unsure about him seeing her whole body. Normally he would have told her not to cover herself, but Nora was a different kind of Little. She needed someone who could handle her gently and while Angel had never considered himself a gentle man, he would try to be for her.

The gym was full of regulars as they walked in. Almost all the men who came to The Cage had been members for a long time and had come to the underground fights over the years. Because Angel and his brothers all spent so much time there working out, they knew almost everyone who came regularly. It was a safe place. Despite that, the people who came to work out there on a regular basis didn’t know about the business they did in the back of the gym, so Angel instructed Declan’s men to stay with the SUV and wait. They would be safe inside The Cage. There were no doubt a dozen or more men who would defend Angel and his brothers in the event there was trouble while they were there.

Lifting her out of the SUV, he took her hand and led her inside, nodding to several people he knew. Emma was standing at the front counter with another employee.

“Hey!” Emma called out excitedly, waving at Nora.

Nora’s grip tightened on his hand, but she smiled shyly and waved back at Emma. “Hi.”

“Beau is in the back room. Can Nora hang out here with me?” Emma asked.

Angel hesitated and looked down at Nora, who was smiling up at him with a hopeful expression. She looked like she wanted to stay and hang out with Emma, which surprised him, but he also took it as a sign that his baby girl was wanting to make more friends and he just couldn’t say no to that.
